On Saturday, I saw a brand-new Aston-Martin DB-11 driving slowly past me in a parking lot.
In addition to the beautiful design of the body, the exhaust note was nothing short of incredible.
Not loud, but... wow!
A few weeks ago just as the cold weather was letting up, I saw a C3 Corvette on the freeway, maroon car with a black "box" type hood scoop. I didn't get all that great a look at it, but from the sound of it, and that scoop, my guess is a 427, maybe with 3X2 carburetor setup.
This morning I saw a Model A pickup with some sort of hotrod engine, the truck was in black primer. It sounded good. Had relatively skinny tires all around, probably not actually all that fast, would be a real handful at full throttle I would think.
Quite a few antique cars around here. As spring progresses, they come out of hibernation.
Last week I was back east in Washington DC and New York City. While driving to NYC I spotted an AMG E63 Mercedes. A fairly nondescript looking vehicle, and with some tape and a few simple mods it can become stealthy and look like a Honda Accord.
Later that night in NYC, I just had to (HAD TO!) stop at the Red Ball Garage to get a selfie. The Red Ball Garage, 142 E 31st St, New York NY.
Why did I do this? The answer is captured in one word. Cannonball.
The first time seeing a BMW X7. BMW’s large SUV. They came out last year as 2019 models. Today’s was a brand new model, a 2020.
