We see a lot of self-driving cars being tested on the roads in Sunnyvale and Mountain View. Some of them are Waymo (Google). Others are Chinese companys and others have logos from other companies that I'm not familiar with. They're recognizable because they have sensors and cameras mounted all over and one or two engineers sitting in them monitoring things.

I saw a late 60s 2 door chevy impala. It was red and shiny with a black top. It was nice. I couldn't stop staring at it. I hope the old man behind the wheel didn't think I was staring at him. LOL

I think a 959 is my fav Porsche but due to authenticity concerns, my first exotic may be a $90,000 512TR (yes Ferrari) or the Testa Rossa (Red Head) before it..
There are actually supposedly around 100 of them in the USA (no one knows the real number). Only 4 were originally imported before they changed the law.

However: No. I would not be able to tell if it were real or an excellent copy. I have only seen one iRL twice before this and some pictures, so I am certainly not an expert on distinguishing a good copy vs. real. If it is a copy it was very professionally made. I am fairly certain the ones I saw before were real as they were at a show. This one looked identical to me from what I remember of them.

There is some game people play where someone hides a beacon and people drive around with giant antennae stuck all over their cars trying to find it using high tech locating equipment of some kind. A young man in our community found the beacon recently, so he got to hide it. As a result there were wacky looking vehicles covered with weird antennae all over the place for a few days. Many of them had to pull over to put out their antennae, they were too big to drive around, but others had them out all the time.

I do not know the name of the beacon game, but I guess it is pretty popular.

I used to see the old Toyota Landcruisers FJ40s, from the early to mid 70s around, on the roads around here. There was usually a few for sale locally, although they were not in great shape, nearly all of them were in some phase of restoration, most had the Chevy 350 engine. I bought one of these in the mid 90s with the intent to restore it completely, but it was a money pit, the guy didnt do the 350 motor swap right, so it was constantly breaking down, or stalling.

This was before I knew what to look for in a used car, I just saw a 76 FJ40 and what it could be when Im done!

I havent seen any of these for at least 10 yrs now, its rare to see a used one for sale even, the few that are for sale have had restorations done and they were good restorations, so they are usually asking $30K and up!!

I suppose the implication here is U.S. locale, but whenever one goes to Colombia (particularly outside the cities), one sees a dirth of WWII-era jeeps (Willys) which are commonly used for carting coffee and plantains to and fro.

My understanding is that they are almost always in self-driving mode. The engineers in the car are there just for vigilance.
