We are happy so far.... alot of money was spent on it to maintain it... we paid LESS for the car than the repairs that were done in the past few months.

I was stunned that it cost the previous owner $867.00 for the new tires, brakes all the way around and a front end alignment they did that all at 73.000 miles so there almost brand new.

I do like the tires there the goodyear LS series and make the car ride smooth..... but gees, $867???
Why is that surprising? You said that was for tires, brakes all the way around, and an alignment. Probably $400 for the tires mounted and installed at retail, so $467 for the brakes and alignment, plus any parts they might have had to replace to align it properly, not to mention sales tax if you live in a state that charges sales tax.

Based on what you've said, $867 sounds reasonable for the work performed.

Maybe so .............. but I personally have not had to buy tires or brakes for a while and I just thought that was pricey... but I see that seems reasonable...

Good find. They are excellent cars.

As far as coils, I'd go to Napa.

I wouldn't be too worried about the plastic intake.

The only thing I've run in to with plastic intakes is the gaskets will sometimes fail. It's a straight forward job.

sometimes the alternator stress can cause the plastic crossover to crack and leak. the dorman plastic replacement intake has an aluminum crossover that wont crack.

Better check out rock auto for motor craft coils... I've seen those after market coils back feed and damaged the drivers in the PCM. Fords are finicky creatures with plugs and coils. Some aftermarket ones work great most don't. I highly suggest motor craft plugs and coils to alleviate any issues.

The 02 F150 I had didn't have any luck with car quest or autozone coils. Sucked it up and bought the motorcraft plugs and coils. This was long before rock auto. Dealer markup is pretty high...
