Default Color isn't that important

I wanted a dark blue metallic in my little grocery getter, but it was impossible to find a stripped down model with essentially no options in the color I wanted.

Dealerships don't stock a lot of those, they focus on the mid-level and highly optioned cars. I'm okay with looking like every other sedan on the road in a dark grey tone, blending in.

You can't really tell the major brands apart anyway, to me reliability and holding value are most important.

Both of mine are red, wife's is blue. Actually Redline pearl triple coat, Redfire Pearl metallic, and Deep impact blue. They love to make up long names for colors.

Two are white and two are satin black. Here in Florida, a whitish car makes more sense.
