a German man used his Tesla Model S to slow down a car behind him that was piloted by an unconscious man, German newspaper Tz reports.
Manfred Kicks was driving his Tesla Model S on the A9 section of the Autobahn near Munich when he noticed a car behind him repeatedly hitting the guardrail. That car, a Volkswagen Passat, was being driven by a 47-year-old man Kicks said he figured was unconscious, possibly enduring a stroke. Concerned, Kicks says he looked in his rear-view mirror and noticed the VW driver incapacitated. "The driver had tipped forward and hung motionless in the belt. The head and hands hung limply down," Kicks said...
this is good... unfortunately in the US the other driver who was helped would be suing him for crashing his car just so he can use the situation to make a quick buck.
Good thing the battery didn't go dead right then, always a concern with electric cars.
Why would you say that? Are electric cars not able to slow down if the batteries run down. Man, that's pretty scary. I sure hope all electric car owners keep their batteries charged up then, so that they don't have trouble slowing down if they need to..
Thank you for your thoughtful and insightful post.

retarded post of the month.
geez. A petrol vehicle could have done the same thing. Would you have come in here stating "good thing he didn't run out of gas right then, always a concern with gas cars".
I think the only thing that made the news is because Elon Musk is paying for the damage to the Tesla. Its like if you drove a Ford and did the same thing and the CEO of Ford called you and said hey good job now well fix your car up for free.
Reality its just good PR for Tesla and gets them into the news cycle.

Actually, it was in the news before Elon made his post about fixing the car for free. That was how he found out about it in the first place. The original article the OP posted made zero reference to the repair charges being covered.
It was in the news because anything out of the ordinary happening to a Tesla tends to make the news, good or bad. It's a popular car to observe.
