Thinking about a regular maintenance program for this. What do you think. Is every 3000 miles too often or should I wait until the 7500 mile mark ? Is air from a gas station ok or should I go get an air compressor?

NEVER let the air out of your tires, it is toxic, having been exposed to the rubber tire, and you will pollute the environment. If you MUST change the air, go to an authorized reclamation facility where they can do it properly. This stuff can kill you, so be very careful.

Hope this information helps.

The air doesn't go stale. Not sure this is a serious question.

In CO we change air in spring to release the cold winter air and fall to release the warm air. Also if you air up at high altitude and drive down to sea level your car will float and not handle well.

Oh, yeah, that would be ok. Since you are high up in the mountains, the toxic air will drift away quickly, so you won't be breathing it for very long. I did not know that about the car floating due to the elevation change, but it does make good sense. Do you have to use any special air, living up that high ?

My wife's vehicle is high maintenance. It only wants the good air, so we drive into the mountains to get that nice clean air. After a week, we repeat this. So far, the car is really happy.

Also, make sure you replace your blinker fluid periodically. It also can go stale after a few months.

Change the air?
About as often as you refill the blinker fluid.
But be sure to align your framistan first, or it might percolate.

I'm assuming you don't mean to change the air in your tires, but to check the tire pressure and make top off when needed.

I'm a bit lazy, but my goal is once a month. It's more likely 2-3X/ year (and I dive ~25K miles, year).

There is no difference between a home air compressor and a gas station other than convenience and cost (of the compressor and the quarters you may use at the gas station). Buy a reliable tire pressure gauge and if you want to invest in a compressor, go for it. If you have a TPMS system that doesn't actually show you the PSI per tire, then just remember that it typically goes off when you are 7 to 8 PSI below the recommended number, which is actually a big gap.
