Public roads, yes simply because in this country you'll attract unwanted attention of the take my license away kind. Quarter mile, reasonably fast. Track, depends on the track but on most no. Even my lowly Prius will hit 105 without much problem given a long enough straight segment. My 17-year-old sportbike will hit 105 very quickly without much effort at all. Fast track like Willow Springs even I've gone around 140. Better rider on a new 600 would have no problem doing 150 at Willow Springs.

So no, I'd not consider 105 fast. Modern cars are easily suitable for 100mph.
Impossible.

They were fast for their time, though. Top speed was was a tick under 130mph.

The tires on my Challenger are rated for up to 180 mph, the speedometer goes to 140, but I have never tried to go ove 90, and that was passing on the freeway. Years ago in my father's 1964 Chrysler wagon I pinned it at 120 and had plenty of pedal left. 105 is fast if you are getting pulled over by a cop, but many cars today can do
a lot more, the Mustang and Camaro about 165, Challenger Hellcat and Audi R8 just under 200 mph.

I feel perfectly safe at 105mph (and higher) while driving my 2015 Taurus SHO, 2011 Cadillac CTS-V, or riding my 2016 Yamaha R1M - assuming light traffic.

I would never go that fast (if it's even possible) in my full-sized Ford Van and Dodge Dakota.

I think people who drive pedestrian cars don't realize that a good handling car is safer at much higher speeds than generic, appliance type cars or SUVs/pickups.

I got my Turbo Cayenne to 130 no problem at all few months ago, (was still pulling like a freight train) higher end German cars are all designed to go much faster then that, and you'd never notice. I had my MB over 100 almost daily, was way too easy to do, and what it was designed to do.

105 ceases to be fast after you've done 170. But I guess if you're in a beat up old car it would be scary fast, lol.

I go on a one freeway to another transition where cops can't see you and traffic permitting I hit 105 in my Integra GSR pretty regularly.

Not really...but braking and the distance you cover stopping, takes on different dynamic in your standard equipped car.
