The manager agreed to fix everything, Plus gave me a small price reduction and extras. Went to inspect and it looked perfect. HOWEVER, 2 days later, day of pick up- car has been registered and inspected night before... I found there is a 2 inch slash in the paint, like someone took a razor blade and deliberately made a cut where the roof rail is. I'm like ... What the F...k!
Now I'm waiting on what the dealership is willing to do.
Plenty of used cars have been repaired before, as well, many repaired poorly and covered up and not disclosed to the buyer. Buying used doesn't protect you from it, and in fact, it's more likely that you'll have that situation happen with a used car than a new one anyhow...
And I'm perfectly fine with that. I just don't want to pay the new car premium for a car with those issues. Used? I expect things to be imperfect and I pay accordingly.
