The driver - later identified as 29-year-old Randy Dewayne Vert - refused to stop and continued driving south on Center Point Parkway, Christian said. Vert was apparently unfamiliar with the complexities of a modern manual transmission, he said, and was unable to get the truck out of first gear.
The truck traveled at speeds of 25-30 mph on to I-59 south. Deputies followed the truck along I-59 south to Bush Boulevard where the transmission seized and the truck stopped. Vert was removed from the truck and arrested.
Yep best anti device and it being a pickup 1st gear is a creaper gear it had to be a slow chase. The only time you use 1st gear is for heavy loads if it's a 5 speed like most of the modern trucks are if equipped with a stick.
I think when some people are born, their parents somehow know that child is going to grow up to be a criminal, so they give them names that sound like a criminal name...........Randy Dewayne Vert, a perfect name to be on a booking sheet ! Just like John Wayne Gacy.
