A 1972 Triumph Spitfire for $ 2,000. A fun car during college, but mechanically it was a real POS.

1978 Alfa Romeo Spider for $550 in 2003, I was going to restore it, but it was in too bad of condition. I parted it out and came out with about $1,100 and bought a running 1981 BMW 320i in 2004 for $490. I got my drivers license that same year.

My first car was a 1960 Metropolitan bought in 1968. I paid $125. I learned a lot about mechanics with that car!

TBH I was in college until last year. While in college my parents wanted to lease me a car. The first car I leased was a Mazda 3. I got it in 2009 and can't remember if it was 2009 or 2010 year. The car was around $20-25,000 brand new because my parents didn't want me having navigation system or anything else except basic basic. After that was all Mustangs. Can' t think of what first or second was originally. The second Mustang I have, I currently have. I MIGHT buy it out. The total is around $20-23,000. Thats a good deal for brand new for features I have. The first Mustang was basic basic model, while this one was upgraded one, which was more expensive as basic basic (obviousuly).

I'll always remember the sticker price of my first car, a 1978 Toyota Corolla SR5 sport coupe, because the numbers are so easy to remember: $5051.50.

The first car I bought with my own money was an '81 Monte Carlo (bought in '88) with 80K miles on it. My boss (who owned the business) at the time deducted $75 out of each paycheck for a year (technically 11mos) until I paid off $1800. I drove it for 8yrs and getting 150K miles out of an early 80's car was a hell of a feat.
