I keep seeing them more and more on the road. Plenty of ads too. Doesn't look like they are folding.

Nissan has just invested in Mitsubishi. Mitsubishi will be around for a long time.

Mitsubishi appears to have settled on being a niche brand in North America while it pursues volume sales in other markets. Sales of their crossovers is keeping them afloat here, which is just as well because that's about all Americans are buying these days other than pickups.

They make cheap cars. Too bad because they had some performance stuff that was great.

I don't know why they persist or why Nissan wanted to buy in.

Perhaps it's historical. Mitsubishi has been around for a long time.

They were the friendly folks who brought us the *** Zero fighter plane in WWII.

They have contracted in size significantly over the last 2 decades. Case in point, I live in Dallas TX. There are currently 7 Mitsu dealerships in about a 100 mile radius. 3 of them are owned by the same guy. There used to be a lot more.

Nissan, in contrast, has 16 dealerships in the same geographical area. Mitsu management has made so many errors since the 90's that I'm amazed they've managed to stick around as long as they have. They have a very strange relationship with their parent company too, they get no support whatsoever.

I searched around Denver and surprised there are 3 Mitsubishi dealerships here. I honestly never see a new/newer Mitsubishi around here.

I've been hearing this for 20 years.
It never comes to fruition.

I miss the 3000GT. I haven't liked anything else they put out.
