Nothing in Carfax for my wife's car that was close to being declared a total. Nor on mine that had a rear fender-bender that insurance paid to have fixed. What is reported to Carfax is hit or miss.
Depends on if that police departments records get reported to carfax. But likely not.
Not just insurance companies but some dealers/repair shops report to Carfax. So before you get it fixed, ask the place if they are a Carfax Dealer or report to Carfax. If so, it'll show up....best to get it repaired elsewhere if you want to avoid that.
It could fall under comprehensive, not collision, which should not affect your rates.
No it wouldn't. It would either be UMPD or collision. Comp claims are things like theft, vandelisim, weather(act of god).
