If the insurance company does not know, it will probably never show up.

Depends on if that police departments records get reported to carfax. But likely not.

From my experience, Gskiran . . . NO.

In most cases Reporting Agencies only report information received from insurance companies . . . rarely other sources.

Probably a very wise move on your part.

Nothing in Carfax for my wife's car that was close to being declared a total. Nor on mine that had a rear fender-bender that insurance paid to have fixed. What is reported to Carfax is hit or miss.

Not just insurance companies but some dealers/repair shops report to Carfax. So before you get it fixed, ask the place if they are a Carfax Dealer or report to Carfax. If so, it'll show up....best to get it repaired elsewhere if you want to avoid that.

It could fall under comprehensive, not collision, which should not affect your rates.

Take full pictures, so if you ever sell the car or trade it, you can prove the damage was just minor and have documentation to back your end.

No it wouldn't. It would either be UMPD or collision. Comp claims are things like theft, vandelisim, weather(act of god).
