Most newer cars allow you to select when the door locks operate. You access this feature through the driver information center. Other cars can be programmed through other means or through the dealer. Check your owner's manual.

A car that's surrounded by other vehicles doesn't sound like the best one to steal. I assume the carjacker would want to start moving as soon as possible.
And for those prohibited from carrying firearms, a can of bear spray is just as effective.
While it may not be as effective as a firearm, pepper spray is good to have. Often the assailant will run away when confronted with a firearm with no shots fired, but you'll probably have to USE the pepper spray. I carry both.

That'll give you time to jump out, if you can get out. But if you have airbags, you'll both come out of it okay, probably. So you better be able to run faster than him, because he'll be going after you, and he'll be crazy mad.
Im not sure a car jacker will put on a seat belt lol. Im hoping they go through the windshield when I hit that pole
