I thought Corolla owners were people who view cars as appliances and are generally not into cars or driving, but just want reliability from point A to B.
I know Ford is considering getting rid of the Taurus after the 2018 model. Automakers going for the SUV and pickups, cars are not selling as well as their SUV, and pickups.

Not really, not in the sense of Subaru Impreza fans or BMW fans, but it is a very reliable valuable brand name, and Toyota would be dumb to kill it. The salesman is seriously misinformed if he thinks Toyota is going to axe a vehicle selling 300K+ cars a year in the US market alone.
McDonald's doesn't have any "enthusiasts" either, but that doesn't mean the Golden Arches aren't valuable.
bad news to Corolla fans: only one of you is left in this club, since the other one decided to get a Kia.
Really, Corolla has fans???
I am convinced 99.999% of owners either hate/don't care about cars and drive one because they have to; and heard that Corolla is a cheap reliable car (aka appliance by people who really like driving cars).
