Can you recommend the cheapest AWD SUV/truck with soft ride? I tried many, but still looking.

The only vehicles with a soft ride these days are the big V8 SUV's like the Tahoe, Expedition, or Sequoia.

Depends on how big you want. My Grand Cherokee rides just fine with the air suspension, it's AWD and you can get it with a V8 if you want.

A hard-used beater with sagging suspension.

Mine rides just fine with no air suspension and 2wd, V6. GC for the win!

About as soft a ride as you'll get for spare change:

Not enough specifics and information.

Escalade. Not cheap, but fits exactly what you're asking for.

Comfort ain't cheap.

I have tried Grand Cherokee yesterday. The limited is OK, but independent suspension can improve the experience even more.
So far from recommended:
Grand Cherokee Limited 44K
Tahoe from 48K
Expedition from 48K
Sequoia from 46K
Escalade from 74K
Something more cheaper is needed.
