In 1986 during the sixth game of the World Series just about every pump at what was then the Pelham Exxon (now Gulf) became a parking space as people watched the game inside the station. The Mets were down and then tied when a ball rolled between the Rd Sox's outfielder's legs.

I know, I know..it's just my "thing". I don't have a lot of things...generally pretty stable....this is my thing. When needle hits the halfway mark...go get it filled.

Most cars today should go well over 40 miles on a half of tank of gas, Some cars almost average that on a single gallon, and many small cars do beat that on a single gallon.

I pay cash when I travel on vacation, so I have to pay ahead of time. I have to pee anytime I stop to fuel up so I generally pay ahead of time if I am on vacation and potty at the same time. If I am traveling for any other reason, I pump my gas and then go potty before hitting the road. However, most places like BJs or Sam's Club, with the better prices put their pumps far away from the store (probably the best marketing idea EVER) so people have a hell of a hike if they need to potty, so it eliminates that part of the equation.

I have left on a road trip with less than a full tank; other than that one time I do the same as you.

During nontrip times, I fill up the tank at or before it is down to half. In winter sometimes it is only down a quarter tank. I don't drive every day and a full tank means less opportunity for moisture in the tank.

I am pretty sure I am not the only one, especially when people are traveling. Everyone needs to pee at some point or another. LOL
