Actually my parents owned it. 1971 Volvo wagon with a 1900 cc engine. Really tough getting on the freeway.

One of my cars I have now: '12 4Runner.
The brakes are even worse - way too touchy.

Then I get in my other car and it's insanely night and day...0-60 in like 4 seconds, smooth but agile braking that doesn't give you whiplash, etc.

For some reason, it doesn't confuse me to go back and forth between the cars everyday.

Yes, but naturally aspirated in 1982 it was the dog of all dogs. I also had one in a 1985 Cutlass that was a little snappier, but still no speed demon.

1958 Morris Minor Traveller. 948 cc, (claimed) 37 hp. There were test results out showing the sedan doing 0-60 in 50 some seconds, but with the heavier Traveller body I do not think it would quite do 60 mph.

I have also owned a '62 Mercury Comet with the base six cylinder single barrel carburetter engine and two speed automatic transmission. Later I had a '73 Volkswagon bus. Both of those were speed demons alongside the Morris.

And we have.... a tie.

1.) 1963 Ford Falcon van, with the 170 cid straight six and the "three on the tree" paper transmission.

2.) 1969 VW bus, with an engine someone tried to modify, which first blew a spark plug across the engine compartment and then split in half (crankcase fracture).

I might have mentioned a Raleigh LTD-10 bicycle in 1973, but I believe it was faster than those two.

You had to push pretty hard on the gas to get it over 70 which was about as fast as it would go. But you could easily get 24-25 mpg in town with it.
+1
I also owned one of those Falcons, and while you essentially couldn't kill them, I was constantly tempted to kill that car as a result of its performance. If you wanted to time its acceleration, an hourglass was much more appropriate than a stop-watch.

You're lucky - I'd drive my friend's car with super light brakes and practically throw everyone through the windshield every time we came to a red light. May I add that it didn't help when I chickened out running the yellow light and seatbelts were not mandatory then. Oops.

1962 Corvair with an automatic transmission and a broken distributor cap. It did 0-60 in... well... it actually couldn't hit 60.
