It's a single seat with two tracks - one near driver's door and one near passenger door. A signal seat.
Now if some wish to change the definition to two front seats and call that a bench seat - they must be youngsters who have never seen a real bench seat.
And there is no "option" for a single full solid bench seat anywhere. There was never an "option" for a full single bench seat. A single bench seat was always the base seat as it was the cheapest to make. Two tracks instead of four tracks on the split front seat.

No, they're just major manufacturers who have been building cars longer than you've been drawing breath.
Gotta love the old farts who can't learn new tricks.
The not splittable bench seat went away because it was stupid. A split bench seat is still a bench seat. It just allows the driver to adjust their portion of the seat separately from the passenger. The center seat was always tiny - going way back into at least the late 1960s. The modern splittable bench seats are the same, just room for a kid to sit int he center. Front or back, but less room int he front inmost cases. Bench seat = three seats in the front, or aka not bucket seats. That is what we have today. The fact they are disconnected so the parts can move separately does not make it not a bench seat, it just makes it a better bench seat. Try being tall and riding with your short mom having those awful one piece bench seats all the way up ow ow ow ow ow all the way to the store. The same people will probably try to claim it is not a bench seat because the seat backs can be tilted as well.
Cant call an improved bench seat a bench seat. I guess we will need to come up with a different name for a push button or cordless telephone. It cannot be a telephone if it does not have a cord and a rotary dial. That thing is one of them thar walkee talkee things, not a telephone.
The bench seat that is not a bench seat to some people serves the exact same purpose. It allows two adults and a child int he front seat, or it allows our sweetheart to sit right next to you if desired.
If you want to mince words, go mince words with dodge over the Hemi engine that is not a hemi at all, or the Mazda with "skyactiv" technology which is not a technology at all, but just a marketing name for an application of technology that has been in general use for decades. .
Manufacturers call their split seats bench seats. They're the ones making the cars Grandpa, so they're the ones who get to determine the nomenclature, not you.

"The bench seat was the traditional seat installed in American and Australian automobiles. This seat featured a continuous pad running the full width of the cabin. The second row of seating in most sedans is usually a bench. The third row of most SUVs and minivans, which may be forward-facing or rear-facing, is also a bench seat."
The last really nice car with front bench seats was the 2011 Lincoln Town car like you used to see driving all over NYC. So sad. An SUV's just not the same.
