If I was actually going to use it as a truck, I'd get a Tundra, since it's available with a usable bed. Most people would be better off with the Ridgeline. It has a useless bed, but most pickup owners don't use the bed for anything that couldn't fit in the trunk of a car or in a minivan, so the bed length doesn't matter.

From a daily non-truck use standpoint, the Ridgeline wins by a mile.

I didn't say anything about axles, but:

2018 Tundra: 4000lb front, 4150lb rear (hasn't changed since 2007)
2018 Ford F150: 3650lb front, 3800lb rear
2018 Dodge 1500: 3900lb front, 3900lb rear
2018 GMC 1500: 3950lb front, 3950lb rear

All of them have a standard wheel size of 17". The Tundra needs 18" to clear the larger brakes.

This is from when the Tundra was introduced, showing the size of the differential and brakes. 131 0801 01 Z+2007 Toyota Tundra+rear View - Photo 9337040 - Tundra's Tail

The full size domestic half ton trucks haven't been getting heavier, rather the opposite (dramatically in Ford's case), so I doubt they have gotten beefier components. Tundras haven't changed since 2007.

The Tundras are much more reliable than the domestics. It's a fact. I don't know if it will do as well as my '84, but there are plenty of anecdotes in addition to surveys that indicate they will go easily past 200k miles with no major issues.

Speaking of beds, the Tundra was the only half ton that could be spec'd with a big rear seat in addition to an 8' bed. Not many people want that, but it was important to me.

That's exactly how I would configure a truck if I were in the market.

When I say "big" I mean big enough for adults to comfortably sit in. It's larger than other half tons, but they are not as big as the rear seats available in 3/4 ton trucks with 8' beds.

Tundra for sure. But then I hate rust and mechanical issues so my viewpoint may be skewed.

I love my back seat in my 2016 Silverado, but I miss the 8' bed I had in my 2001 Sierra.

I would buy the Ridgeline it has class leading MPG in fact even the AWD models have better MPG then the 2WD competitors and the FWD model has better MPG then many SUVs and class exclusive AWD unlike the 4x4 or 4wd of competitors and FWD unlike the RWD of competitors that makes it have the best MPG of any truck

Then why is the F150 the best selling pickup in America. Toyota can only dream to sell as many Tundras.

Ford has sold enough F-series trucks to circle the earth more than three times. The F-series, best known for the popular F-150, has been America's best-selling truck for the 40 consecutive years since its launch.

Tundra, they are generally rock solid like the tacoma is... my only concern with either would be rust, which they have had issues with in the past
