No offense to you personally, but it's a dumb list. If you are ever lucky enough to find an M3 or an STI for under $10K, it will be beat to within an inch of its life. Same goes for the Hondas. The authors must have smoked their copy of the KBB when writing this list, because it's just not realistic.

I was wondering the same thing. I mean, I can probably find a Mustang GT (which is always my favorite), generation before the S-197 for around $10k or less, but it's going to be ridiculously modded. Some of the ones on the Luxury list I did happen to see on CL for under $10k (BMW 5 series), and looked to be in great shape. No S Class Mercedes though, at least not for $10k. I like to know who compiled these lists for these people?
This is a fun answer but seriously, if you aren't a cyclist, for the love of god you do not need a $10k bike. $1,500 will provide more than enough comfort and features for years even for a cyclist who cycles daily. Even if you are incredibly (edit: no idea why that cut off, sorry) wealthy, why spend money on something that doesn't change the experience at all?

Unless you mean a motorcycle?
Obviously!
$10K will get you a nice bike, but you still need another $1000-$2000 for protective gear.
Good thing $8-9 will still get you a nice bike.
But who wants to ride a bike in the city/urban environment? Not me. So you'll also need a trailer to get to the good stuff and/or track.
$5,000 buys you a very nice 1st gen Miata, maybe a bit more to get one with the factory hard top.
I had a NB miata. Good fun on an open road or track, but no power to pass those trucks/suv that clog up the curves. Basically useless, unless you go for a turbo/supercharger.
