Does anyone know of a list on any of the automotive websites that tells which new cars come equipped with CD players? Looking up one car at a time is very frustrating and I am trying to find which cars still do have them as part of my new car selection process.

Oddly, there seems no consistency. Some upscale cars have them, some do not. Some lower end cars have them, some do not.

Any help with locating such a list would be appreciated.

I think you should pick the car for other things and install one if it doesn't have one. Makes more sense.

My 2017 has one but I've never used it.

Audio capabilities can be changed/enhanced for a few hundred bucks. Not something that should be driving a $20k+ purchase.

I'm not asking for your opinion on whether I should want a CD player or not. I'm looking for info. If you have no input of value to contribute, move on.

I just tried Googling "New cars with CD players" and pretty much just got editorials on why the CD player is going away. Honestly, it would help to know what type of vehicle you're looking for. Truck? Small, mid-side? Full size? SUV? Sedan? Sports car? Can probably help you a little more if you be more specific in what you're looking for. If it's simply to find a new car with a CD player in it, then you're on your on with your search.

Didn't tell you whether you should want one or not. Just that I had a 2017 that did have one.

And since the fact that you can install whatever sound system you want into any car you want seems to escape you (along with normal adult manners), I'll sign off this thread.

How about upending the process and deciding which have "radio delete" as an option...which used to exist, back around the time when 'CD players' were mainstream, and the decades prior as my dad taught me all the way back to the 1970s at least. Delete it, then spend $300 to $3K at the Car Toys building out a system you really like? Nice CD player, 8 track, whatever with six or eight Focal speakers, a small sub, and twin 500 watt amps with good crossover, maybe? Pretty much what I did to my Tacoma in 2010, per paperwork I dug up recently, except I was specifically deleting CD player as obsolete garbage to be replaced by MP3 w/onboard 128GB storage.

There was a day when 10/10 stereo systems that came with my cars were deleted (if new) or removed (if used) and a trip to Car Toys or whatever scheduled. That changed with my '15 Porsche, a Bose system I could not duplicate outside of a higher-end stereo shop for less than $7K, but that's the only exception so far.

I just searched 17-18 on my autotrader app with cd player. It returned 1,125,657 results. You can search pretty quickly by make or style of vehicle. I dont know of a database.

A lot of the vehicles nowadays have their climate control system integrated with the head unit, even the base models, so it's not always as simple as asking for a stereo delete.

A true audiophile wouldn't say that, as CD quality is much better than MP3 quality if you are truly looking to get the most enjoyment out of a higher end system.

Mp3/Bluetooth streaming is nice and convenient, but I would hesitate to call CD's obsolete.
