Agreed. Older vehicles had actual chromed, metal parts. Modern cars it's usually plastic with chrome paint.

My uncle's Jaguar E-type looks fantastic with the real chrome bumper and accents.

The last car I had that could pull off chrome was an 80's BMW 5 series, that had chrome trim around the windows and chrome fenders and wheels. Nowadays, chrome trim really makes a modern car look dated and cheap.

I live in Southern California and you can't touch a black car with black trim when it's 100 degrees from July through the beginning of September when it's been sitting out in the sun.
