Populist nonsense. Red light cameras are there to incentivize people to stop for red lights and penalize those who don't. Politicians who remove them are succumbing to non-sensical populist pressure where the stupidest of the mob rules. Heaven help us.
Exactly. The majority isn’t necessarily right; it is merely a majority. Plenty of good examples from history.
I understand the aesthetic appeal of not having a front license plate, but why do it in a state that requires a front plate? I've noticed a number of posters that say they do it.
Personally I don't want to give a bored cop an excuse to pull me over.
Don't need one in my state. NM It's not uncommon to see vehicles without one in the back either.
Do not really understand the purpose of front license plates- fortunately here in FL it is not required, cars look much nicer without a front plate.
I once witnessed a hit and run and had a very clear view of the front of the vehicle for a prolonged period of time. The guy hit the person then backed away before turning around, but by the time he turned around he was too far away for me to make out any of the numbers on the plate on the rear of the car.
This happened when I was in college in a state that did not require two plates and as such, the guy didn't have a plate on the front. To my knowledge they never caught the guy; a front plate would have helped there.
I guess they think the risk is so low that the benefit of not having it outweighs the risk. I'd never do that. But then again I have tinted windows that are illegal but that actually provides a benefit outside of just looking nice.
I hate those tinted windows that you cannot see the driver. I like to be able to see if the driver is paying attention............especially to see if he is not going to pull out in front of me......
I just don't understand some people. You want to drive illegally (if so in your state) without a license plate so you can drive illegally by speeding? What has America come to?
A lot of people believe they are entitled to be excepted from something they themselves deem important. In other words they think they are above everyone else........and rules should not apply to them.
Well that is just stupid. If you don't run the red light then you won't get a ticket. How hard is that to understand? Of course, feel free to kill someone's family because a red light it just too inconvenient to stop for.
My daughter got T-boned by an idiot who did just that...........

I am just following the example set by our politicians. The politicians think the laws they pass do not pertain to themselves, only the "little people".
A land of frivolous laws and regulations to drain the pockets of the average working person. If enough people protest the BS money-grab schemes, they disappear or at least are less enforced. Just do a little research on how many municipalities have rescinded their red-light programs.
And I remember when the politicians told us back in 1974 the 55 speed limit was temporary and would only last 1 year. Then the windfall from speeding tickets and insurance rate hikes entered the picture and the 55 limit lasted until the mid-1990s.

So someone does something you disdain, and you do the same thing.
Excuses, excuses...
