I don't really know much about cars.
I turned on the heater in my car and after a few minutes a loud noise began and the temperature arrow spike up. Now I'm not using it because even though I do not turn the heater on the annoying sound begins after the temperature arrow reach half. I do not know if it is the heater or what.
I need orientation.
Temp spiking means you're overheating. It's strange you're overheating with the heater on. Usually turning on the heater cools an overheating engine since the heater core acts like a second radiator.
The noise could be from the serpentine belt slipping off a damaged water pump, which would cause overheating. Next time it happens, pop the hood and carefully see if you can isolate the noise. Check the coolant level and look for any leaks on the different pullies the belt runs over.
