First tried to jump it and it made a clicking noise, after letting it sit for a a few minutes we jumped it and it ran for 5 minutes then stalled out. Let it sit for 30 minutes and re-jumped it, again same thing. After 3 more jumps and unplugging/turning off everything electrical we got it idling for 15 minutes and drove it for about 10 min before it stalled. We noticed that the lights (rear/cab/dash/etc) would flicker off and on when it stalled, but wouldn't turn off completely. Also the gauges (speed, RPM's, etc) were fluttering slightly on zero for a couple minutes after stalling. Additionally it wouldn't let us shift into neutral to push or tow it once it stalled and we put it in park. When we did get it started it seemed to hesitate and idle low (under 500 RPM's, usually idles at 6-700-ish) After several jumps/stalls we let it sit for about 10 minutes then it cranked right over on its own and drove for 30 minutes. Let it sit over night and it cranked again in the morning no problems, drove fine... It is freezing right now were we are, not sure if this is a contributing factor.
It did make some weird clicking sounds and wouldn't crank a couple times but after giving it a few minutes it seemed to be able to be jumped but then stalled again, just not immediately.
the fact that it charged up the battery enough to "re-start on it's own" in the nominal amount of total run time that you were able to get with the jump starts strongly suggests that the (1) alternator and (2) the battery are in OK condition.
Given the cold ambient temps, I'd be looking more at the fuel system ... either frozen/restricted at a fuel pick-up or fuel filter, or failing fuel pump. Low fuel pressure/volume will cause the running symptoms you describe.
Went and got the battery/alt checked, Alternator was fine, Turns out the battery was bad so I switched it out. I will be checking the fuel lines also just to make sure there isn't a problem there as well. Thanks for everyone's help! I'vs never seen a dead battery do things like that to a vehicle...
