put a half dozen drops of pure peppermint oil on a cotton ball..put three or four of them with it on them under you hood area..that's what I do for mice deterrent..probably works for squirrels too..
Yikes! This just happened to a neighbor who regularly parks outside instead of in his garage. We have a family of squirrels in the area that run to and fro as there are plenty of trees around. They’ve been in the area since before I moved here. Cute, little havoc-causing busy bodies.
Not sure if it was due to the recent below freezing temps or something else, but he stated he had chewed wires and signs of an attempted nest near his engine. He’s looking for solutions now... and an expensive repair job. He didn’t specify an amount, but it was enough for him to consider using his auto insurance to cover it.
OUR squirrels live in the garage. I park outside to keep my car away from them.
