1. My 1990 Subaru Justy did not come with a passenger side-view mirror. It only had 3 cylinders and 12-inch tires (145SR12)! Can you imagine such a small car?? [BTW, what does "SR" mean??]
2. My 1991 Hyundai Excel only had 4 speeds for its manual transmission! Most cars at that time had 5 speeds. It came new from the dealer with no A/C and no stereo and did not have power steering. It did have variable intermittent wipers though, lol!
3. My first car ever in 1991 was a 1976 Buick Century Special Edition. It only had 72,000 miles and I bought it for $100. The right door was rusted shut. The was a hole in the foor in the rear where the passengers feet would be. It was covered by a square piece of carpet. If you moved the carpet, you could see the ground as the car was driven! I ended up junking the car in a few weeks since it would not pass inspection without expensive repairs.
For the first two that was standard for many cars at the base level. A right side mirror was an option, even for higher trim levels. Most manuals in that era were 3 speeds, not 4.

Our 1990 Ford Ranger was a 5 speed. So we’re Mustangs. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 3 speed manual in a 90’s era car.
Passenger side mirrors can be found on motorcycles. I don’t think it’s that odd.
My 2012 Mini Cooper has just 3 windshield wiper speeds. Twist to select hi or low. If you want the only “intermittent” speed, you have to push the button at the end of the stalk. I think every car I’ve owned since 1987 had more intermittent speeds than just 1.

Look what he's talking about, a Justy and a Hyundai. Likely base. A lot of cars still had 3 speed automatics, no overdrive, into the early 90s as standard.
My 1960 Renault Dauphine had no radio. It had a crank, and a hole to put it in, to crank the engine if the battery was dead. I actually used it once. But it had two-level horn, soft for town and loud for country, a big selling point..
I don't think my 47 Studebaker had a radio, either. Nor dash lightrs. The numerals on the dashboard instruments were glow-in-the-dark paint, which saved the added cost of a light bulb, socket, and a couple of feet of wiring.
My '48 Chev had vacuum-powered wipers, which means they stopped when pulling up a hill.
My '64 Volvo had no thermostat. There was a rubberized screen on a roller that could be manually pulled up in front of the radiator, by a chain strung over the engine, and connected to a loop under the dashboard. From which I learned that if a thermostat went out on a later car (say, a '93 Toyota) a pizza box found in a dumpster could be shoved down in front of the radiator, to bring it up to running temperature in winter.
Before 1941, a lot of ads for used cars said "R&H" which meant Radio and Heater, options with which many base-model cars were not equipped.
My '62 VW Beetle had no gas gauge. When you run out of gas, you manually turned a lever thast accessed the reserve tank, about another gallon. It also had no heater fan -- heat would blow through the car only when moving. The Blaupunkt radio had a switch from Medium Wave to Long wave, but it was hard to pick up any LW stations in North Amereica.
My Jensen Healey has no power windows or top, no air conditioning, no computer of any kind, no air bags, no cruise control, no automatic headlights or windshield wipers, only 4 manually shifted gears, no heated seats, and an 8 track player that is very difficult to find tapes for. I had to add a passenger side mirror.
My 2014 Toyota Tacoma did not have intermittent wipers. That was an easy fix; it just required a new switch. I also replaced the radio with a used factory HD unit, and then later replaced that with a used factory HD unit with navigation. Life is good.

That’s basically a 4 wheel motorcycle.
