Got it for $7500. I'll do a few mods (17% pulley, exhaust, sway bar, and some other stuff) and drive it for 3-4 years before trying out something new I don't mind wrenching on cars, but I don't want constant problems. Hopefully this one treats me good!
They have both a supercharged and turbocharged version of same 2008 1.6 and different manual gearboxes? Is this dealer error?

The convertible remained Gen 1 through 2008. So any convertible 2007/2008 is supercharged. 2007+ hard top and 2009+ convertible are turbo, and a horrible engine until 2010 until they updated it. The S always has a 6 speed manual if you don't go automatic.

The dealer's 2008 hard top S is a 6 speed automatic and turbocharged. Kind of confusing.

Got it. Love this car! OMG, even though only 170hp stock, this thing is a freakn blast to drive! You feel like flying a fighter jet, and the 6 speed manual is a dream.

The mods have started. Going with a 17% reduced pulley, exhaust, and intake to add another 5psi of boost.

Congrats on the Mini! I loved my '11 MINI with the 6 speed manual. Just an enjoyable little car, and the convertible/roadster was on my short list when looking for a car to replace the 14 MINI we had (which I didn't like as much as the earlier car). Had my wife wanted to stay with the manual, it would have probably won out for sure, but she wanted an automatic this time, which meant we needed a car with more power, thus the 330i. But that convertible Cooper S is definitely sweet! And it's the right color, too!

Nice! Congrats on the Mini.
I just picked up a convertible Mustang GT last weekend and I’ll be soon selling my Mini. As a convertible, it’s hard to beat the Mini. I’m gonna miss easy parking and being able to throw it around curves. If I could I would keep both, but I’m drowning in cars over here.

Nice!! My co-worker picked up a 2018 GT premium MT6 a few weeks ago and that thing is a monster. If I was kidless, I'd have no issues paying $50K for one, but I'm broke for now! haha
