2010 Ford F-150 with trailer package. That includes a combination 7 pin/4 pin adapter. Mine quit working after I backed unto an obstruction and perched the 7 pin/4 pin adapter on that obstruction. I drove off the obstruction but the male "supply fitting" pulled out of the female 7 pin/4 pin adapter. They fit back together nicely but the adapter no longer supplies power to the trailer.

The light comes on the trailer brake controller but trailer brakes are no longer activated by the controller.

The trailer fuse appears to be OK.

Check the truck's trailer light wiring (the wire harness from the truck to the connectors). The trailer lights' power and ground are the same used by the truck. Disconnect the trailer's wire harness from the truck, and have a person near the back of the truck watching the following lights at the end of your truck (one at a time). Turn the truck on:

-Press the brake pedal
-Turn signal, right/left
-Drive lights

If all those check good, then check for voltage and ground at the 7/4 pin plug. If the ground and power at the truck check good, then the problem is at the trailer wire harness. It's an easy repair, but I would recommend that you have someone who does that for a living to take care of it for you.

More than likely one or more of the wires at the 7/4 adapter is broken or damaged at the plug.

Just needed to jam the male and female connectors a bit tighter. Started working yesterday after I pushed as hard as I could.
