Yes, it’s lower here too now, down to as low as $3.13, that’s a significant amount. Time for a road trip!

I'd say gas prices are TOO LOW. They don't reflect the actual costs of sourcing, refining, transporting, and producing a gallon of gasoline or diesel. Your taxes cover the spread, covering subsidies, military protection of production, sourcing, and supply routes. Based on articles I have read in the WSJ, The Economist, etc a gallon of unleaded in the US should be closer to $7.50/gal before tax is applied. Guess where the delta in money comes from? YOU, the American tax / debt payer. Thank god China keeps loaning us money, we are in the hole $4.50 for every gallon your F350 burns.

The government needs to end all subsidies. My guess is people would quickly move to other forms of transport.

It's not just big trucks. A lot of the people most vocal about the environment, going out and buying Teslas to give the perception they are green, own huge homes with large carbon footprints and often utilize a ton of air travel. I just shake my head when environmentalists bash a guy with a truck and then go out and make multiple international flights per year and live in their 5000+ square foot homes. The worst are the politicians with private jets.

If gas goes up jet fuel also goes up and the cost of flights would double, or the airlines would go bankrupt. I would have no problem with this because I'm pretty boring and have a fairly low carbon footprint. There's too much production going on for that to happen though. It's not some grand conspiracy of solders protecting drillers, it's a matter that technology has improved and fracking can be done at a lower cost per barrel and there are lots of oil producing nations on the planet. If it wasn't profitable the price would go up.

When you cannot afford to buy it for the most economically to run car. Until that point it is cheap.

If you're putting gasoline into your vehicle then it is not too expensive.

It may be more expensive than you want to spend, but when does anyone ever want to part with money? That's not the issue.

The fuel station makes you an offer by posting their price. By pumping their gas, you are accepting that offer. By definition, you are thereby stating that their gasoline is not too expensive.
