Which one is too expensive?

Stand by to grit your teeth if you ever visit the U.K.
The average price of petrol, (gas), is £1.31 per litre, there are 4.5 litres in a gallon, that’s £5.89.
At today’s rates, £5.89 equates to $7.67, enjoy driving on the “wrong” side of the road!

And diesel was a lot less.

Now... you just have to brew your own (~$1/ gal) or... get a drum of free discarded Jet A every few months. I drive a LOT and use <25 gal / month. But with 34 cars... and many trucks... I don't often run out of spares

When it hits $3 a gallon it is too expensive. Over $4 it is outrageous.

California just went over the 4 dollar per gallon for regular gas average. With the hurricane season on the way it could get interesting. Throw in the facts China imports almost all of it's oil and Ohio just raised the gas and diesel tax substantially and we may have the (fill in the blank).

Correct and some refineries are shut down for maintenance every time at this time of year. Gas by me is $2.54 at sams club and $2.49 at Costco.
