I also think gas mileage would increase considering it's a lighter material and plastic cars would also require probably less fuel anyways...
What do you think? Should cars try going all-plastic?
Using less fuel is like a euphemism. Of course they're lighter but they're also junk. Nothing is done to help the consumer. It continues to be about big businesses. If I'm hit or visa-versa, I can't pull out the dent. At this point, it seems all that's needed is some sturdy sort of plaster. Body shops will make the money on plastic cars and they are just that.
Example: ethanol is a myth. It reduces mileage (so I don't care lighter may increase mileage, ethanol wipes that out. It actually costs more to produce than gasoline from oil. It may help farmers dump their corn.
