A car with a 350 mile range will charge in about 17-18 minutes on a rapid charger. Read what I wrote, I never wrote stop every 100 miles at all. I am suggesting that driving 5 hours non-stop is foolish. BTW, if you drive from Lands End to John O Groats you will need an overnight stop. Average mileage in the USA is the same as Europe. Most people do not run off on 500 mile trips regularly, few do. Most trips are very short.
Travelling on a highway in an EV is no different than in a dirty fossil fuel car. Rapid chargers are everywhere in some countries, and will be everywhere in at least the western world and China, as the momentum picks up. You will be driving an EV at some time as the days of dirty cars are coming to an end.
You can go over 700 miles on a full tank of gas in a F150 who would want to stop every 300 miles and wait 20 minuets to charge their vehicle I rather fill my vehicle in 5 min and then hit the highway again.
EV cannot make a pickup truck that can do what a American pickup can do
An EV can do it better. The biggest road vehicle in the world uses electric motors. We do not have pickup trucks. Why? Those sold are used by construction men to put stuff in the back and that would be the only reason I would ever buy one. It is a commercial vehicle. I would rather buy a bus than one of those.
Doubt it. California is near 10% EVs, but that's California. Has been for years and it hasn't really changed. Just the vehicles are getting more EV. Hybrid owners buy PHEVs or EVs but the total percentage of EV sales hasn't really changed as when hybrid owners buy a PHEV they aren't buying a hybrid.
A sensible wife. I would not dream of driving 5 hours non-stop. It is very dangerous to do so. But you can drive 5 hours in an EV, but please do not.
very dangerous....now that's funny. I don't know about you, but for me it is not dangerous to any degree. I could safely navigate a straight thru 5 hour trip 100 days in a row.
Firstly, I have been all over the USA and worked for US companies. Secondly, you have been slaughtered on all your points, which is not difficult. I advise you to look at the first post and understand the video. I doubt you viewed the video.
Your video is made from the same Silicon out of touch morons who brought us an $800 Juicer.
Your buddy’s bio doesn’t indicate that he’s done anything but run some internet startups and has no experience in industry. It’s basicslly a glorified internet blog by an unqualified idiot.
You haven’t slaughtered jack. First you need to defer to some uneducated idiot from Silicon Valley. You think people in the US take Uber to work, and you think we favor electric vehicles.
You’re so out of touch, I’m beginning to think this entire thread is fake.

Why would I want one of these, EV or not EV?
Because you’re British.
If you can’t understand why Americans buy trucks then you can give up on assuming what we will buy.
You clearly don’t know the US market.

I guarantee I have seen more of the USA than you. But even if you want large ugly pickups, EVs can give you that as well. The EVs will come and sooner than you think.
You have been slaughtered. You revert to insults and ignore hard data when proven wrong.

Driver fatigue. A minimum break of at least 15 minutes after every two hours of driving is recommended

You are being quite silly now.
