Dude. Stop watching "Say Yes to the Dress", "House Hunters", and everything on the Lifetime network. Ads are targeted to the viewing audience. That is taught in Marketing 101.
Men buy full size pickup trucks and Viagra cars like the Corvette and Mustang. Why would the Big 3 waste valuable marketing dollars selling cars to men?
I agree, it has to be about what your watching. Every Dodge commercial is about oversized horsepower and masculinity. Watch a Nascar race or NFL football game, and there are tons of "tough" truck and SUV commercials.
I don't know if it's me or what because just about every car commercial I see is aimed at women by women. When was the last time you saw men pitching muscle cars or bragging horsepower? They are either carrying grocery bags and opening the trunk swinging their foot or going out to town on girls night out.
I guess you have missed all the Dodge commercials, especially for the Demon and similar high HP cars. Almost every ad any more from any mfr is about performance.
Yeah they talk about the electronics, connecting your phone etc, not the engine.
I've gone car shopping with the millennials. The LAST thing they want to know about is whats under the hood.
