Would I be able to negotiate better on an Audi A4 vs a Q5? How about a 3 series vs an X3? I've had friends and family be able to negotiate much better prices on sedans vs SUVs, and this is across all size ranges.
Just this past weekend, a dealer would not budge on the price of a GMC Terrain (compact SUV), but would do anything to sell a Cruze or Malibu, even an Impala.
Is this craze of SUVs filter down to luxury cars? I do know small and mid-size SUVs like the Q5 and X1/X5 are selling like hotcakes, but are they also selling enough of their sedans that they don't care?
It may depend some from brand to brand and how well sales of their particular sedans are holding up. That said, sales in most sedan segments are flat or in decline, and as such I would expect to be more deals than in the red hot CUV markets small to mid size ones)
