2008 Prius with 84,000 miles.

Short around town trips of 2-5 miles gets me 39-41 mpg.
Long highway driving at 70 mph on cruise control gets over 50 mpg.

I’ve logged every single fill up since I bought the car in a notebook kept in my glove box. The mileage shown on the car display closely matches my miles divided by gallons.

Mod cut: Orphaned (quoted post has been deleted).

I thought all new cars had that little MPG thing in them.

My 2018 Colorado V-6 does. And it seems to be accurate. I generally average 23 to 26mpg. It's advertised as 18 city, 25 highway. Most of my driving is highway so.. I would generally wind up on the high end. And while not attempting 'hypermiling' or anything like that.. I am very easy on the gas and brakes.

2015 Subaru Legacy 2.5i - 25 to 29 mpg, depending on where I'm driving. Usually around 26 mpg.

2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid- lifetime average 46.0.

My husband gets individual trip mileages in the high 50's, low 60's. I don't do nearly as well. I'm the primary driver and do try to hypermile. Not sure what he's doing that I don't. He does use cruise control a lot and I never use it.

My 2013 Honda Civic gets between 35 and 40mpg. Shes a great little commuter car for my hubby to use. Meanwhile his 2006 Honda Ridgeline gets around 22 mpg. It's all highway driving up here so that's a plus for our mileage. Zero stop and go traffic, and only one stoplight in our entire valley.

My son had a 2003 Saturn ION (26/33 I think EPA rating). Since it was otherwise a pretty boring appliance, he used to have fun hypermiling. He typically managed to get in the high 40s. So, you can beat the EPA numbers. At least the 2003 numbers. I understand they change the methods at times.

I typically get what the EPA predicts as a highway average for combined city and highway real world driving. My Vibe with the 2.4 liter engine should get 22 to 28 but I average 28 and sometimes get 30 mpg.

2014 Ford Focus. 45-48 MPG highway driving and usually around 35 MPG in the city. About 30 MPG in winter driving conditions.

2011 Mercury Grand Marquis. Best mileage I got on the highway was 26-27 MPG; it usually averages around 25 or 26. City driving it is closer to 21 MPG.

2000 Ford Windstar. Highway driving about 22 MPG and city driving around 15 MPG. I didn't get the van for its gas economy though
