I figured I could negotiate a better deal walking into a dealership. However the per unit price was not the major issue.
Exactly right...Focus on cost of ownership - not up-front price. Too many people focus on the latter.

It’s relatively easy to double sales when you’re selling 5,000 cars per month and have a model refresh. Tough to double sales on the F150 or the RAV4. The car that surprised me recently was the Rogue. It was outselling the CR-V and RAV4. I assume they lowered the price to buy market share. Honda and Toyota have huge brand loyalty.

Subaru has seen big sales growth. The Outback, Forester, and Crosstrek are now high volume sellers. Toyota moved their Camry line out of the joint Indiana factory so Subaru could ramp up production. I imagine other 2nd tier Asian crossovers are seeing similar growth.

Absolutely correct.

Snow is cold.

Water is wet.

Fire is hot.

Sandpaper is rough.

Yawn.

Because most people don't read the automotive forums. The cvt meme is heard around here. Nobody cares.

Because most are leased or sold to rental car companies that trade before the CVT goes out

Where are people getting the money to buy these trucks?

I looked into replacing my 02 Supercrew option for option and it was over $60,000 !

If I had no money down the payment would be approx $1200 a month for 5 years !

That is a house mortgage!

But if one is content to have a “trucky” truck they’re not expensive. My brother recently bought a new XL model F-150 with a standard cab, rubber floor, base engine etc. for 21K. It has a couple of options like air and a package that gave painted bumpers and power windows. Thing has almost 1900 pounds payload, good power and is very serviceable as a truck.

None of my business because it doesn’t effect me and it should not concern you either.
