I have probably a 8-9 small parking dents, no paint removed that I would like to have pulled out.
I have never had this done before...A) what’s the expected ballpark cost here so I know what to anticipate
And B) is this something to trust a body shop to do? I don’t want to risk paint damage for my 2008 Mercedes.
Thanks.
Paintless dent removal is a mature business and there are great shops all over. No need to take it to a bodyshop where they'll want to sand down, fill and repaint the dented areas.
I've used them with excellent results on my BMW. There should be a similar shop near you that specializes in high end cars.
It tends to be about $150 for a few dents on a panel. Multiply that by how many separate panels are affected to get a rough estimate before going there.
Paintless dent repair is effective, quick, and costs much less than bodywork. I have had small dings removed many times and highly recommend it if the dents are soft-edged (no creases) and the paint is undamaged. Cost per dent depends on how big, how deep, and WHERE the dent is. Some of them are easier to access than others.
The state I live in is famous for hail damage, especially in its most populous area. I have seen two cars with many, many dents all over the vehicles that paintless dent repair places fixed. I never would have thought they would tackle such big jobs. It just takes more time if there are that many dents.

Went to a specialist that does the dent removal. Not a body shop.
Excellent results.
Had small dents removed from my Ford wagon done here: LINK
No paint work. No body filler.
Car looks virtually new. And the Ford wagon is 18 years old.
I worked at a car plant years ago. We had company cars we serviced. If the dents were accessible from the backside, and the paint was not cracked or creased, we could smooth them out. We uses wooden dowels, like the thickness of a broom handle, cut to about 6 inches long. One end cut down to about 1/4" and flat. With a small dent like a door dent. The metal has been stretched. You work around it with light taps to bring the metal back flat. It takes some practice, but its not to difficult.

^^^^ Take this post to the bank. When I worked at a high end body shop, we would call in one of these Dent Dr type businesses on certain spots because when they leave, you do not see where they did any work. The dents disappear.
When I had my Mustang painted, the body shop missed a couple of spots, I had a Dent Guy come to my shop, he removed about 3 dents and showed me a couple so small I missed them. It was so cheap my Son had his Mustang gone over while they were there. Both cars are now flawless.
I had tree branches that came down on my vehicle. Went through my auto insurance for claim and they referred me to a body shop. Shop originally gave me an estimate for body work but when the vehicle went in for the repair, they decided to call in a PDR specialist to do the job. The cost was a little less than the original quote and vehicle was repaired in less time.
The body shop I used was pretty big and even they don't do it themselves, it's out sourced. With that said, had I gone to my regular mom and pop shop that I had used for years, they would have done it as a body work instead.
