I don't have any dashboard warning lights on and I'm trying to decide if the car is safe to drive until the 19th, when the dealer can look at it. It's a 2013 Impreza with 79K miles. The issues are that when I turn the steering wheel, I sometimes get a squeaking noise and when I'm at slow speeds (generally 10 mph or below), there is a scraping noise.
brakes, CV Axle.. Could be other front end suspension issues.. I'd make sure you don't have a tire rub.. But outside of that.. If you get it taken care of in 10 days.. I don't foresee your wheel falling off or anything.
Why are you waiting so long to get it to the shop? My Check Engine light came on 2 days ago; it was in the shop and dealt with this morning. Minor problems that get put off often turn into bigger, more expensive ones.

That was the soonest the dealer I always use could fit me in, but I think you're right. I'll find somewhere else. I like having all my records at the same place (this dealer) but 9 days IMO is a crazy amount of time to have to wait for a diagnosis of the problem.
Sounds like a possible front end issue... Anything from axle to joints.
Get it put up on an alignment rack when you get a chance.
As for "how dangerous," I wouldn't think it would be too big of an immediate concern.
If it were cv joint would make a clicking sound not a squeaking noise. Could also be the steering rack or brakes the sound that the break wear indicators are touching the brake rotor meaning you need brakes now.
Sounds like the front brakes to me. I just had this issue with my vehicle and it the brake pads were worn all the way down so they were metal to metal when I braked, but also made a noise even if I wasn't braking (purchased the vehicle used 6 weeks ago and had a mechanic's check, which missed this major issue). Fortunately it was still covered under the manufacturer's warranty.
