Remember In the Police Academy movie. Bubba Smith rips out the front seats of the smallish '77 Honda Civic, and sits in the back seat to drive.

How are the cars even able to move off with him in them?

I'm 5'11" and 250, had to squeeze just a bit into my 996 series 911 Turbo. Headroom was the problem, my head brushed the ceiling and I'll tell you that's really annoying.

Not so the 991 series, they seem bigger all around to accommodate Vikings like me, too. I'm snug as a bug in that thing in-fact. My Tacoma has always been accommodating, too.

Escalades, F150s, etc. fit huge people just fine. In fact I had a quick test drive of an Escalade back in 2011 and discovered I felt like a midget. I think 300lb gangster bodyguards fit in just great, the whole point in that case.

My issue is usually knee room if not head room. Never had a problem width wise. Even the Mini Cooper fits me very well.

Also, I'll tell you that head room and leg room are different animals. Many people don't struggle with leg room, but if you have a longer torso, and shorter legs, there's very little you can do. I'm only 6'3 but I have a 30 inch inseam...meaning that head room is hard sometimes. I don't know his measurments but he does seem to have long legs.
I know the feeling, Im 6ft, but have a 30" inseam, I have trouble with head room in most cars, trucks and SUVs!! It always feels like Im sitting up too high. I have a 06 Hyundai tucson now, and Ive thought about modifying my driver seat to make it about 4" lower.

Doesn't help that the stated measurements are all but worthless too.

First pic is me in an 09 RAV4 - 41.8" stated leg room
Second pic is a 15 Kia Forte5 - 42.2" stated leg room

Does this look like a 0.4" difference in leg room to you?

Without seeing where your seat position is set, the pictures are worthless.

I'm 6'7...they're both all the way back as far as they go.

Mr. Jeremy Clarkson seems to manage quite well fitting into "small cars". The man drove a
Bugatti Veyron from Italy back to England with no complaints.

Though if being honest like most older guys who happen to be "big" he likes something with a skosh more room.

If you look closely at both videos while yes, Mr. Clarkson is a tall and "big" guy, much of the girth is (or was) his belly. Sort of like a hugely pregnant tall but otherwise thin woman.

When you consider one of the prime markets for sports cars is middle aged men, one must assume Porsche and the rest have sorted things out to accommodate a wide variety of shapes and sizes. After all not every 40+ or even 50+ guy is built like Mr. Tom Cruise.
