Unless your driving one then it becomes the safest vehicle as you peer over all the peasants in their econoboxes like the lord looking over his estate!

Ever hear of hitting the breaks and backing off, sometimes as a driver you have to swallow your pride and get back in line. It's not embarrassing but it's safe and sometimes the right thing to do.

OP, out of curiosity...

You say the other driver sped up when you went around to pass her. Did she gun it? Did it take reaching 71 in a 45 to get around her? How far ahead of her were you when you merged back over?

An SUV driven by a competent driver is far less a menace than a vehicle of any type driven by an aggressive, belligerent or clueless driver. People who accelerate when you attempt to pass, for example.

Everybody has a story. My excuse was that the speed limit kept changing on me do I did not know what I supposed to be doing. My lawyer said may be so but at no place on that road is the speed limit above 55 and you were doing 75.

What was the outcome of your ticket? A reduced fine?

Only until you get T-Boned, then you are a rolling roller coaster SUV Ride. Six Flags would make you pay for that.

She hit the gas hard enough to force me to accelerate to be able to make it around her with cars oncoming.
They were still at a good distance away but in truth it would be hard to gauge out fast they were going.
Maybe 20-25 ft. In all honesty I was trying to get back into my lane as quickly and safely as possible.
