I actually used peddle.com in 2013. It was easy and once I agreed to their offer on my 1990 Toyota Corolla, they had someone here in less than 24 hours. Signed off on the title, gave me cash, took the car. It doesn't cost anything to go to the website and see what's involved. Good luck.

I build cars, so I end up with carcasses of parts cars occasionally, and have junked them. It is getting tougher. Junkyards are getting more selective on what they will take in, and if they have to come with a flatbed or wrecker, they ask a whole lot of questions first. (Do you have the title, does it run, is it complete and rolling, etc)

In your case, I would put an ad on Craigslist " Parts car, $ XXX," maybe put a couple of hundred or so on it and see what happens. Someone out there has a similar model that might need some parts.

Of the 30+ cars I have had since my first at age 14, only a few were not traded in:

Sold the first for $170 more than I had paid, by word of mouth
Sold the second for $125 more than I paid to next door neighbor
Both were 1958 Chrysler’s, running but burning oil

Sold a 1972 VW squareback to wrecker for $50
Donated a 1986 Horizon to charity for tax deduction
Sold a 1987 Ford Tempo to local for $1,200 with sign in window
Sold a 1997 Escort to used car dealer for $500

There are many options. I only tried Craigslist on the Tempo, lots of scammers, or people that would argue about whether the mileage on it was accurate, despite pictures of the odometer

Drop the engine-transmission as a unit.....should be a pretty easy sell on CL or similar, depending
on the type of eng/trans.

Strip-down the frame and sell it as a unit, people like to buy to use for various things.

A lot of the other parts, like many of the modules, can be easily sold on Ebay.

I’m not physically capable of that anymore. I just have to sell the whole thing or junk it.

If it will not pass inspection, they most likely will not take it.

I sold two cars as parts cars. Can’t remember where I placed the ad for the first one; for the second car (14 year later) I put up an ad at my employer’s For Sale bulletin board.

First car had a blown engine, in addition to being 21 yrs old. A Willys Jeep enthusiast bought it as a project car.

Second car could be driven and did pass emissions but enough things needed work that I did not want to sell it as a daily driver. It was 22 yrs old. A Chevy enthusiast who tore apart cars for a hobby wanted it for the engine (which he would rebuild if necessary, to put in a classic muscle car). When he started it up, he expressed surprise that it was in better shape than he expected. Fast forward a few years...I was cycling in a state park and heard a car coming up from behind. A very FAMILIAR-sounding engine (my car’s exhaust had been modded before I bought it). It passed by, and I saw my old beast, complete with rakish faded paint job and the same dent in the lower right from having someone else’s dumped tailpipe hit my car on the highway. The buyer apparently gave it to the teenaged daughter as a daily driver.

Now fast forward again, a lot more years...my old beast went by but did not sound the same. Looked like the buyer finally took the engine out but put a smaller one in the old car. I couldn’t believe how long it was on the road!

You will never know until you pick up the phone can call some junkyards in the area where you live. There are also ads on CL for people who "Buy junk cars".

As long as you have the title, you can donate it. The car just goes to auction and the charity gets a cut; they don't actually use the car.

I know. I’m on it. I enjoy others advice and experiences too.
