Soon we will add the Cadenza to the list. A car that is in the Genesis league can be had for 25 grand after two years.
Speaking of Genesis....
I would say the G80 & G90 are underrated. They're equipped similarly to the BMW 5 & 7 Series and the MB E & S Class respectively, yet they sell for tens of thousands less simply because of the badge. And reviews of the new G70 are uniformly great, yet I'm sure sales will still underperform due to the Genesis logo. Hell, many people don't even know that it is a separate stand-alone "luxury" division now rather than the name of an old Hyundai model.
Underrated and old as dirt, the Toyota trucks from the early 70's 'til 1982 were, and still are, great rigs. They had the 20r and 22r engines that were nearly indestructible, and the automatic transmission option was great as well. And they had a long box that could take 8' lumber with the gate closed.
I still see them running around today, they can be had for $2000 and up for a decent rig on craigslist.
I’d say the most underrated cars are all mass market basic transportation with no status. Chevy Cruze, Malibu, and Impala. Most of them will deliver 150,000 trouble free miles but they’re invisible because they’re not status symbols. The Korean cars are similar. A new timing chain Hyundai Accent is likely to go 150,000 miles with nothing but brakes and tires.

I got a Cruze as a rental and loved it! It felt like an Audi A4 base model.
I had an Impala rental a few years ago that I took on a 5 state trip and thought it was a more than capable car.
The problem: both cars were rentals, that is how the public perceives them!

They are great cars.......the G80 feels like an older 5 series BMW! Genesis cars have more HP than their BMW counterparts!
Every time I hear of the Touareg I think of the time that a buddy of mine had to fork over $2400 because the A/C system went bad.
Early ones had gremlins for sure.
I like them but wouldn't buy one.
