I always thought this option was a complete waste of money but my new car has heated seats and i'm loving it, very relaxing/theraputic to back and upper legs, who knew?
I live in Florida, so I have never used the heated seats in my Caddy. But on the way to work one day, I bumped the switch and didn't realize it. A few minutes later, my butt started to get VERY warm !
I never cared much for heated seats especially being in coastal southern California. However, the last two used cars I bought have them and they can be rather nice on cold morning. They are also helpful for EVs where convection heaters use a lot more energy to heat the whole car. Heating air is probably the least efficient medium and even more so when there's no exhaust or radiator generated heat waste. Local radiant heater for the seat and steering wheel is a lot more efficient. I wouldn't pay more than $200 for the feature; you can add aftermarket heating elements and a switch for less than $100 these days.

Where was this feature when I lived up North ?
I lived in Clearwater Florida in 2015 and my wife bought a 2016 Kia Sorento that had heated seats in fact there are lots of vehicles that come with seat heaters. It’s a package that automakers offer no matter what part of the country they are sold in.
For those who have to park outside. Warm up the vehicle.
If ever I get a new vehicle I'd make sure to get remote start. Heated seats and steering wheel are a great thing to have.
Problem is the newer cars only keep the engine running for 10 minutes. The temp gauage barely moves off the mark.
