I had them installed aftermarket in my Jeep Wrangler. Takes less than 2 minutes to get hot.

Not an option we need in south Louisiana. It rarely gets below freezing here.

Come on. I bet you have heated toilet seats, too. And heated pants to walk to your car.

I live in Florida, so I have never used the heated seats in my Caddy. But on the way to work one day, I bumped the switch and didn't realize it. A few minutes later, my butt started to get VERY warm !

Where was this feature when I lived up North ?

I LOVE my heated seats and steering wheel. I wouldn’t buy a vehicle without heated seats. I hope my next vehicle has the cooled seat option too.

I never cared much for heated seats especially being in coastal southern California. However, the last two used cars I bought have them and they can be rather nice on cold morning. They are also helpful for EVs where convection heaters use a lot more energy to heat the whole car. Heating air is probably the least efficient medium and even more so when there's no exhaust or radiator generated heat waste. Local radiant heater for the seat and steering wheel is a lot more efficient. I wouldn't pay more than $200 for the feature; you can add aftermarket heating elements and a switch for less than $100 these days.

Heated seats may be nice, but ventilated seats are a godsend in the south.

I lived in Clearwater Florida in 2015 and my wife bought a 2016 Kia Sorento that had heated seats in fact there are lots of vehicles that come with seat heaters. It’s a package that automakers offer no matter what part of the country they are sold in.

Except that on my Lexus you don't get the whole steering wheel heated. Only 3 and 9 O'Clock.

Problem is the newer cars only keep the engine running for 10 minutes. The temp gauage barely moves off the mark.
