My apologies if I seemed harsh, although, you know quite well what a hash almost everybody else will make once they start cutting on the wiring harness. Clip here, Scotch Lok there, and pretty soon they let all the smoke out of the wires and then they don't work anymore...
Solder and heat shrink are the way to go, particularly outside the cab, and don't let anyone say that butt connectors or Scotch Loks are good enough. They are good enough until they spend a couple of seasons in the weather, then they corrode and develop high resistance.

I have seen some hack jobs. I have seen car stereo amps and speakers put in with wires twisted together and nothing but electrical tape wrapped around them. It is mind boggling. lmao
