Just picked up a 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid at a Local Auction (from a college) Paid $5300.00 .... 17k miles. Runs great. It was dead when first inspected but it turned out to just need the hybrid battery recharged. It by far was the best deal ive ever got at an auction.
I do quote Hoovie a lot, he's my kind of nerd. Nah, another in that crew, the half dozen or so who are really interesting (leader being Rob Ferretti): Tovarish. Check it out, easy to find with some keywords.
If I had *any* use for an older super sport sedan, I'd be all over a well-used IS F with records. But I refuse to drive junk on wheels that cannot get out of its own way, and pray I still feel that way at 65 or so, too. OP is heading down a path that will simply lead to the next crapmobile blowing up, again, and it's keep shoveling out $5-10K at a time. Just park it with the rest on the back lot, out in the Tucson sun or whatever. I'm familiar with the mentality, here in WA. The foliage tends to eat cars like that in about twenty years, thankfully, never to be seen again
The IS F is one of those exotics that has lost bulk of the value, difference being they *don't* self-destruct at 75K miles because it's a Lexus. I wouldn't touch a four door M3 (assuming they existed) from that era under any circumstances other than "free."
Believe me, to do it again, I'd have never bought my used BMW 540i, right about at the point they start to break (60K miles, as I recall). The money and trouble that thing cost me in two years...never again ($866/month cost to own, not counting consumables, per my records).
Impala Maxx (hatchback) is what we bought for $1500.
had 55K on it. so far so good. just about any Ford, Chevy, or Dodge
sedan that is over 4 years old has tanked in price. the bigger ones
have dropped even more. if i was looking to buy -cheap- today i would
consider the 4-year-old Dodge Caravans. i've seen them for $4k.
Infiniti Q70. They are very reliable and Infiniti has trouble holding their value compared to their competition. That makes a used one a deal for you. The styling is not bad nor cutting edge. They are fewer in number as they still have not caught on like Lexus or even Acura in my view.

Where? $14,000 maybe but I don't think I've seen ANY 4 year old car for $4k, even salvage crashed cars.
Go get you another Buick man. Grandpa would be proud.
Forget the Toyota or Acura, no way you going to be happy in those things. Toytota Venza, maybe but I doubt it...
It's either Buick, Impala or a 20 year old Dodge....lol
I want a good reliable car, but one with lots of depreciation, but only 3-5 years old. I'm first going to look at a Chev. Impala. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Chevrolet Impala.
They don't make "big" sedans anymore.
