None of the above. A good SUV does anyhing a sedan does and does some truck duties as well. Muscle cars are playtoys for the immature.

Agreed. But "practical purpose" is highly contingent on lifestyle and life-stage. For some people, "practical purpose" means "just barely capable of being legally driven to the drag strip".

The 3.5L V6 in the Camry (since 2007) is shockingly vigorous. I’ve not driven an Ecoboost Mustang, but I did have a base-model V6 Mustang rental. It felt more solid and purposeful than the Camry, but in terms of acceleration, it would struggle to keep even with the Camry. If I had a choice of which vehicle to take to the local drag strip, I’d take the Camry!

Not necessarily. Torque curve, vehicle weight and gearing could overwhelm the difference between 185 and 250 hp.

Currently I own a nice 2014 Mazda6 with 185HP, 5 persons fit in it, chrome detailing on the exterior...
I am thinking on replacing it with a new Ford Mustang Ecoboost, that is bad-ass, has 310HP, but only fit 2 people, costs 10% more on insurance and gas, and has no chrome detailing (only black plastic).
I am a lead design engineer, which is an intellectual-middle-class job, and I am a single male.
Which would suit someone like me better, the awesome muscle car or the spacious elegant middle class car?
I never wanted a sports car, but the last few weeks it was bugging me, I keep watching mustang reviews on YouTube...

No one knows what you should do more than you. If it were me, I would buy the Charger Hellcat which has 707 HP, sounds freaking awesome, you can carry 5 people and a pile of luggage....I did. One qualifier, I wouldn't buy the Charger HC if I lived somewhere like downtown NYC.
