I have never paid as much as $6k for a diesel truck... (nor would I drive a v-8 or a v-6 diesel BTDT)

Free fuel, very low maint costs (if you feed them clean / dry fuel)...

been using diesel most my life, and they will last the rest of my life...

Gotta love those 4:30AM mornings at -10f with a blast of diesel smoke directly in your face (Tractor smokestack). And immersed in the 'soot' for 16 hrs, everyday of spring, and summer. ...

You tell me. I’m getting people offering me 15/16k for my 99 diesel. And I’m turning them down. A gas counterpart of the same vehicle sells for about 4-5k. But I have a very sought after diesel. A diesel commands 3-7k premiums over a gasser. And most diesels get twice the mileage on the odometer as a gasser would before it gets resold. But I have noticed that most diesel owners tend to be more OCD about their vehicles
