The Volvo wagon. Not very popular when discussing fast wagons and hot hatches. Never even knew there was such an engine in a Volvo but I was impressed.

Those new Volvo’s have very powerful engines but I’ve always found them (We’ve had a couple of R trim turbo wagons) to be particularly uncommunicative while driving especially at their limits. The only way you know you are approaching them is when the traction control light starts blinking or you bounce off the rev limiter. They are fast but not fun. Recent reviews that I’ve read indicate that quality about them is unchanged.
The Volkswagen Golf Sportwagon and Alltrack are fine cars but certainly don’t approach the performance or overall fun of my 17 y.o. WRX or are even measurably larger. But mostly I just don’t trust buying anything but an Asian brand for reliability or overall design and packaging, even as I know some folks do luck out and have the odd and unusual reliable example of a European or domestic marque.
A mid sized SUV; I don't care whether it is of unitized construction or on a frame and I care even less about the hair splitting argument that it can't be one if it's not the other.
Either way, clearly car industry marketing is very effective, hence every American thinking they 'need' a private vehicle (and typically a gas-guzzling, street-hogging SUV at that).
But hey, if you don't agree with my opinion, then just Close/End any thread that I may start.
