But of course, as others in this forum have said, there's no correlation between speed and safety.
The worst vehicles are the ones exceeding the speed limit.
Many years ago, when the VW beetle was just gaining popularity, the common statement was "But, if you get hit by a Buick or Cadillac in that thing, it crumples and you are dead! Small cars are dangerous!"
So, a VW dealer took a few full sized cars (Buick, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, etc.) to Bonneville and ran over them with Mack trucks. The result wasn't pretty!
Of course, when a Mack truck gets hit by a locomotive, the result isn't pretty, either.
When a locomotive gets hit by a bigger locomotive...
